A dawn service was on Monday held at ANZAC Cove in Gallipoli in Turkey to remember the Australian and New Zealand troops who landed there during the First World War.
A wreath-laying ceremony was led by the Australian Minister of Veteran Affairs and the New Zealand Defence Minister.
April 25, 1915, was the date of the first Gallipoli landings, when large numbers of Australian and New Zealand troops were killed.

ANZAC Day is a public holiday in both countries and tens of thousands turned out for the dawn services and parades. Meanwhile police in Sydney have charged a teenager with a terrorism offence, alleging that he had planned an attack at one of the ceremonies.
